UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Met With William C. PotterUN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with William C. Potter, Director of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) on May 10, 2010. The major focus of their discussion was disarmament and nonproliferation education. Dr. Patricia Lewis and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs Sergio Duarte also attended the meeting. During the meeting, Dr. Potter described the Monterey Institute's new Masters in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies, which begins this fall. The Secretary General noted that he was already familiar with the Center's work and sought CNS assistance in addressing pressing disarmament and nonproliferation challenges. Dr Potter extended an invitation to the Secretary General to visit MIIS. |
