UNITED NATIONS PROGRAMME OF FELLOWSHIPS ON DISARMAMENT
The purpose of the U.N. Program of Fellowships on Disarmament is to train national officials of Member States, particularly developing nations, on issues of nonproliferation and disarmament and to empower them with the skills to effectively take part in international deliberations and negotiating fora. The Program is administered by the U.N. Department for Disarmament Affairs, under the direction of Under Secretary General Jayantha Dhanapala.
The Monterey Institute's Center for Nonproliferation Studies sponsors a two day program held at the United Nations in New York. The program involves seminars with non-governmental experts in order to provided the Fellows with an opportunity to become acquainted with U.S. policy and research work in the field of nonproliferation, arms control, and disarmament.
