Please see Course Offerings for more information on required courses.

Students earning a Certificate in Nonproliferation Studies should also pursue opportunities for professional development such as:

  • Part-time work as a research assistant at CNS
  • IONP Internships arranged through CNS at the following international organizations: the International Atomic Energy Agency (Vienna), the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (The Hague), the Conference on Disarmament (Geneva), the United Nations Center for Disarmament Affairs (New York), and the Organization for Nonproliferation in Latin America (Mexico City). These internships offer a salary and other compensation and are awarded on a competitive basis.

Monterey Institute students who do not already have an M.A. degree may pursue a Specialization in Nonproliferation Studies as part of the MAIPS degree. The Specialization is not open to non-degree students.
