In Memoriam13 April 2007 David Fischer David Fischer's passing this past March has been a great loss to the Monterey Institute Center for Nonproliferation Studies and the international community of nonproliferation experts and practitioners. David was a venerated friend and inspiring mentor, who will be remembered for his wisdom, common sense, and boundless energy and enthusiasm. As Distinguished Scholar-in-Residence at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies, David brought remarkable knowledge and passion to the study and practice of nuclear nonproliferation. He also was a man who never let his high positions in international service interfere with his love of humanity. David will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Paul Leventhal The Monterey Institute Center for Nonproliferation Studies regrets the passing of Paul Leventhal, the founder of the Nuclear Control Institute and a leading advocate of nuclear nonproliferation. His work contributed significantly to enhancing U.S. nonproliferation laws, international nonproliferation institutions, and public awareness of the proliferation threat. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues at the Center and throughout the nonproliferation community. |
