Academic Spotlight: IP531 Arms Control Simulation

The Arms Control Simulation course is an interactive and unique way for Monterey Institute Nonproliferation and Conflict Resolution students to engage in real world negotiations aimed at resolving central nonproliferation challenges.

To achieve its training objectives, the IONP has focused on
establishing a unique program of international
internships for Monterey Institute students, which now includes
full-time paid positions at the United Nations Department for Disarmament
Affairs (UN/DDA) in New York, the International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA) in Vienna, the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva (CD), and the
Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in The Hague,
Organization for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America (OPANAL) in Mexico City,
Office of Cooperative Threat Reduction (U.S. Department of Defense) in Washington, D.C.,
and the Nuclear Cities Initiative Office (U.S. Department of Energy) in Washington, D.C.
IONP also supports the United Nations Disarmament Fellows activities by
hosting a
two-day training seminar at the United Nations in New York.
