CNS Staff: Anya Loukianova

Anya Loukianova is a research associate in the Newly Independent States Nonproliferation Program (NISNP). She is responsible for tracking and writing on nuclear and missile developments in Russia and the NIS states for the Nuclear Threat Initiative's research library. Anya also manages the Submarine Proliferation database.

Prior to joining NISNP in August 2007, Anya worked as a research assistant at the CNS office in Washington, D.C., focusing on export control and cruise missile proliferation issues. She has also previously interned at the Institute for Defense & Disarmament Studies and the Brookings Institution. Her work has been published in WMD Insights, the International Export Control Observer, and Eksport Vooruzheniy. Anya holds an MPIA in security and intelligence studies from the University of Pittsburgh and is originally from Tula, Russia.
