Chris Fitz

Assistant Director for Administration

Activities

Chris Fitz is the Assistant Director for Administration at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Monterey Institute for International Studies.

Background

Chris returned to CNS in February 2012, after having worked at CNS from 1992 to 2001, first managing and marketing databases tracking nuclear and missile technology and, later, assuming broader administrative and financial management duties.

In the interim, Chris spent three years working with UNITE HERE Local 483, a union representing hotel workers in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties. He had also served as the executive director of LandWatch Monterey County, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting and inspiring sound land-use policy at the city, county, and regional levels.
