Robert ShawResearch Associate and Export Control Instructor
CNS ActivitiesRobert Shaw is a Research Associate and Export Control Instructor in the East Asia Nonproliferation Program (EANP) at CNS. His research interests include export controls, WMD-related trafficking and supply chain networks, and Northeast Asian security issues. In 2010, Robert assisted with the curriculum development for the CNS-supported Asia Export Control Fellows Program, and he has written on the response of regional export control systems to illicit North Korean WMD-related procurement networks. EducationRobert holds an M.A. in International Studies from the University of South Carolina and a B.A. in Journalism and Foreign Service from Baylor University. He also received a Certificate in Nonproliferation Studies from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in 2010. BackgroundPrior to his enrollment at the Monterey Institute, Robert worked for over 12 years in the private sector, specializing in export compliance and international procurement. Robert has also served as an International Trade Officer with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. |
