BASIC FACTS

Timor-Leste is a Member Country of the NAM Movement since 2003

The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste is a group of islands located near Southeast Asia, closest to the continent of Australia. Colonized by Portugal since the 16th century, Timor-Leste became independent briefly in 1975 before being invaded and occupied by Indonesia until 1999. In 2002, Timor-Leste became the first new sovereign state of the 21st century 

Capital: Dili

There are no nuclear power plants or research reactor facilities in East Timor.
