BASIC FACTS
The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste is a group of islands located near Southeast Asia, closest to the continent of Australia. Timor-Leste is a semi-presidential republic that declared its independence in 2002, becoming the first new sovereign state of the 21st century.
Capital: Dili
There are no nuclear power plants or research reactor facilities in East Timor.
