BASIC FACTS

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is a cluster of islands located in the southern Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Venezuela, and is the most industrialized of the Caribbean nations. In foreign policy, Trinidad and Tobago has an independent voting record but is closely allied to several African nations, and has recently aligned with the U.S. and European Union in the area of counter-terrorism and extremism. Trinidad and Tobago is a parliamentary democratic republic that gained its independence in 1962.

There are no nuclear power plants or research reactors in Trinidad and Tobago.
