BASIC FACTS

The Republic of El Salvador is a Central American country bordered by Honduras and Guatemala on the Pacific Coast. El Salvador first gained independence in 1841 and is today a unitary presidential constitutional republic.

Capital: San Salvador

There are no nuclear power plants or research reactors in El Salvador.
