BASIC FACTS

The Republic of Djibouti is located on the northeast coast of the Horn of Africa, on the Bab el Mandeb Strait, which lies to the east and separates the Red Sea from the Gulf of Aden. Djibouti is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Ethiopia to the west, and Somalia to the southeast. Djibouti is a presidential republic that gained its independence 1977.

Djibouti does not possess any nuclear power plants, research reactors, or other nuclear facilities.
