BASIC FACTS
Fiji is an island archipelago located in the South Pacific Ocean, about 1000 miles northeast of New Zealand. Today Fiji has one of the most developed economies in the Pacific region due to abundant natural resources and a successful tourist industry. Fiji is a parliamentary representative democratic republic that gained its independence in 1970.
Capital: Suva
There are no nuclear power plants or research reactors in Fiji.
