BASIC FACTS
The Republic of Peru is located in western South America, bordered by Ecuador and Columbia to the north, Brazil to the east, Bolivia to the southeast, and Chile to the south. Peruvian territory has one of the longest histories of civilization in the world, dating back to the 4th millennia BC. Peru is a presidential representative democratic republic that gained its independence in 1821.
Capital: Lima
There are no nuclear power plants in Peru. However, there is one critical assembly (RP-0) and one research reactor (RP-10) used for neutron radiography.
