BASIC FACTS

Bangladesh is a Member Country of the NAM Movement since 1973

People’s Republic of Bangladesh is located in the South Asia, in the northeastern part of the Indian subcontinent. Bangladesh is surrounded by India to the west, north and east, and shares a border to the south with Myanmar.  

Capital: Dhaka

In 2017, the country began constructing thefirst unit of The Rooppur plant, a nuclear power plant which set to features two Russian VVER-1200 reactors.The first batch of nuclear fuel arrived in 2023
